Georgie Stayches
Inspired by the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games and kicking off her life in events at the 1997 Australian Open Tennis, events has always been in Georgie’s DNA.
After completing a Bachelor of Media Arts, Georgie Stayches commenced her career at the Tennis. From there, her varied career has seen her work at media organisations including Channel Nine and Granada Television (London) as well as major events including the 2000 Sydney Olympic and Paralympic Games, 2002 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2006 Asian Games (Qatar). From there she transitioned to community events including the Pioneer and Working Horse Festival and Teddy Bear’s Picnic as well as national roadshows including taking Winnie the Pooh and Tigger around Australia or delivering national graduations. Georgie’s experience has covered the spectrum.
Each event no matter how big or small, global or local has armed her with the insights to challenge how we look at events.
As the Chief Engagement Officer at Fetching Events & Communications, an organization she founded over 14 years ago, she is passionate about not just nailing the run sheet but identifying the event purpose and understanding human behaviour to create the best event experience.
Fetching Events & Communications was founded to provided specialist advice and support in the areas of events, communications and volunteer management at major international events and works with organisations including associations, peak bodies, community services, education, tourism and sporting, specialising in personalised events, communications and volunteer management.
